Presentation by Marg Jenkins

Marg Jenkins delivered a Power-Point presentation (see below) on Water Irises.

She breeds and grows on a wide range of iris species in her Strathalbyn back yard - (over my back fence as a matter of fact).
One might expect that the conditions in Strathalbyn would be far too dry for this activity, but Marg has fashioned a number of growing beds on previously carefully levelled ground, and has built low, shallow pond-like areas, using black poly sheeting that is supported at the edges with lengths of timber. Water levels are kept below about 4cm, but can briefly drop to almost zero.
Various sized pots are placed in this shallow water (size depending on plant age).

Unfortunately we don't have an audio track, so viewers will need to make do with the printed notes that are displayed with each image.
