Talk – Greg Ruckert: about new bulbs available from nurseries and which nurseries are most reliable. Van Diemen has great range of tulips, Dutch iris, muscari and crocuses and other bulbs, highly recommended with good quality and range. WA bulb supplier ‘Tulips with a Difference’ is very helpful and plants must pass strict quarantine laws for plants to be imported to WA. Hancocks has additional bulbs as well as daffodils No postage on orders over $40. Club Creek has good range and quality of new liliums, their new catalogue is not yet out. Marcus Harvey’s Hill view bulbs in Tasmania has rare bulbs and is good to deal with but has limited numbers of bulbs, good website, pictures in the catalogue are just a small sample of what’s available. Lambley has good quality plants and good suggestions of what to plant where. Garden Express, Lake and Tesselaar are other suppliers.
On internet look for Nurseries OnLine, type Rare bulbs to bring up other suppliers.

If members combine orders the club might be able to get a bulk order in January for members.

Late posting

The committee has identified a need to have a logo and also a slogan to use for posters, letterhead and fliers. The logo will be designed by SignBoys who have produced our show signs and fliers.

You are invited to submit logos either by email or at the next meeting.

The committee will judge the entries and the chosen one will be rewarded with a prize - a box of bulbs!

The winning Slogan will be announced at the June meeting.

The other competition is for the Founders' Trophy. This is for photos of new seedlings grown from seed by the exhibitor.

The seed can be from the packs given out at previous shows. The photos are judged on the bloom shown, not the composition of the photo.

Lots of entries please at the April meeting.

Raffle followed by supper.
Meeting closed at 9.30pm
Next meeting 2nd April. 7.30pm Crafers Institute.
